REGULAR ACTIVITIES OF SRI JAGADGURU TRUST

 

The trust is proposed to conduct Akanda Kodi Vishnu Sahasranama Parayanam during the month of October / November 2009. It has already conducted the same i.e. Akanda Koti Vishnu sahasranama Parayanam during the year August 2006. on this occassion annadhanam will be given to thousands of poor people.

The trust has got recognition U/s.80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961... the donations made to the trust will be exempted.

Every year the Trust performs Veda Parayanam on the Jayanthi (Birthday) of Sri Sri Maha Swamigal of Kanchi Mutt. Besides the Veda Parayanam, religious lectures were carried out on every occasion. The lectures were on important topics such as Sita Kalyanam (Marriage of Sita), Sri Rama Pattabishegam (Victory of Rama) Sundara Gandam ( part of Ramayana) Dharma Yudham (Story of Mahabharatha), Sri Bhagavath Geetha (Duties of the Man) Sankarar & Shanmadham (The Stories reveals about Sri Adhi Sankarar and his methods of prayer) and so on. The trust also conducts music programmes in Karnatic and Bhajans by vidhwans (Scholar in the subjects).


It also arranges meetings in all Religious festivals with Sanskrit Pandits and explains the intellectuals in Veda.

The Veda Parayanam is performed with the minimum of fifteen Ganapadigals. It starts at 8.00 AM in the morning and completes at 5.00 PM in the evening every day and the Parayanam will continue for minimum 15 days.

The trust releases souvenir and book lets every year. The Souvenir consists important slogas (poem) of all Gods, which are very important for the mankind. It also explains about the temples situated in South India and its link with Veda. It gives the abstract of Veda (Meaning of Veda). It is also a nutshell of lectures of Great Mahans (Great Saints) such as Adhi Sankarar, Sri Maha Swamigal, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal and Sri Vijendra Saraswathi Swamigal, etc.


The trust also issues booklets consist of important Hindu festivals, New Moon, Full Moon, etc. every year to the public, which is useful to the people to know the Nakshtharam, Thidhi and other important festivals to complete their karmas (Duties).

The trust has also released booklets explaining the meanings of the Veda Mantras chanted at the important Hindu functions such as Upanayanam (entering in to Vedic School), Marriage and Seemantham (function performed to a pregnant lady for normal delivery).

The Trust performs Nithya (Daily) Ganapathy Homa, Maha Sudharshana Homa, Navagraha Homas, etc regularly at different temples in and around Coimbatore. It also runs a small Veda Padasalai and teaches Veda and Slogas to the young and old. In doing all these they fulfill the commitment of Veda Rakshanam to some extent.

The Trust seeks application from the public in Coimbatore to enroll them as the member of the Trust by collecting a small amount.
